FRIDAY saw the male surfers take to the water for round three of the 2015 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro.
With The Box continuing to turn on amazing conditions, the world's best men are expected to put on a masterclass in their bid to progress to round four.
Yallingup wildcard Jay Davies continued to get the better of his more fancied opponents and proved that sometimes local knowledge is key.
Several of the other surfers who successfully wrangled The Box in round three featured surfers from the South Pacific, where open-ocean breaks are similar to Margaret River.
In the afternoon with the action shifting back to the Main Break, the women hit the water with some very high scores posted in their first round.
Cleanup sets plowed the lineup and most of the opening heats were spent battling the elements. It came down to who could maximize the little time they had above water. In round one, it was the tour veterans.
All six top seeds advanced directly to round three and current world number three Tyler Wright from Australia put another nine-point-range score on the board before the day's end. Her two-wave total of 16.74 was the highest of round one.
