AN award-winning play that delves deep into the psychological impact on those who fought in World War One will be performed in Bunbury on Anzac Day.
Under Any Old Gum Tree is written and directed by Noel O’Neill and stars Kieran Garvey.
It will be performed at the Waters Edge restaurant/theatre on Cobblestone Drive on April 25 at 7pm and is presented by the John Boyle O’Reilly Association.
Association spokesperson Peter Murphy said the play would take its audience on a somber journey but it will also bring a smile to your face.
Each year the association celebrates the life of John Boyle O’Reilly and the many other Irish men and women who have made a contribution to WA’s arts and culture.
John Boyle O’Reilly made a famous escape to America from a convict road gang near Bunbury in 1869 and also made a significant contribution to Australian/Irish literature.
