Gazing into his crystal ball, Footy HQ writer Justin Rake takes a look at each side's possibilities coming into round two.
IF: The Hawks can take it to Busselton for three quarters before being dealt with.
THEN: They can take it to Collie for four quarters. Expect a surprising AMR win here.
IF: The Dogs are truly relying on their young talent to take them places.
THEN: They might not play a September match for some time. The talent is a good crop, but development takes time... just ask HBL.
IF: The Magpies start as slow against Carey Park as they did against the Hawks.
THEN: Expect a belting. They’ll need to be on their game this week.
IF: Brandon and Graham Jetta opt not to play this week and head up to Perth to watch their brother Lewis take on the Dockers instead.
THEN: A certain South West Anzac Day clash just got a whole lot more interesting.
IF: Collie continues to put up the performance they did against Donnybrook on the weekend.
THEN: They can probably expect about four, maybe five wins this season, tops.
IF: It’s round two this week, which it obviously is.
THEN: Donnybrook will need to be switched on to avoid a second-week slump. History shows the Dons aren't fabulous in round two.
IF: People are questioning Eaton’s premiership chances because they “only” beat Harvey by 39 points.
THEN: People need to wake up. This team has every chance of three-peating.
IF: The Bulls want to make a sports journo very happy.
THEN: They will honour the fact that I’ve tipped them to conquer the Lions. Don’t ruin my perfect record, Harvey.
IF: You think the Lions have no hope of making finals and are an assured cellar dweller again.
THEN: You’re probably wrong. This is an improved team with finals aspirations.
IF: The Tigers can duplicate their first half performance against the Panthers for this week’s game.
THEN: It will be a watchable contest. If not, well, let’s not go there, hey Tiger fans?
