A 37-YEAR-OLD-MAN has been arrested and charged after he was allegedly caught driving at 169 kilometres per hour on Forrest Highway in Myalup last night.
It is alleged he was also driving with a blood alcohol content in excess of 0.08.
At about 11.25pm on Wednesday, June 1, Harvey police were conducting patrols on Forrest Highway in Myalup when they detected a vehicle travelling at 169 kilometres per hour in a 110 zone.
Police turned on their lights and sirens but momentarily lost sight of the vehicle.
The vehicle was located soon after stopped on Harvey-Myalup Road with its lights turned off.
The driver was arrested and subjected to a preliminary breath test which he failed.
He was then taken to Harvey Police Station where it will be alleged he failed a second breath test.
The vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
A 37 year old man from Broadwater has been charged with reckless driving, no authority to drive and excess 0.08%.
He is due to appear in the Harvey Magistrates Court on Monday, July 13.
