AT least five businesses across Greater Bunbury have been broken into and robbed across the weekend and police suspect the crimes are linked.
Bunbury Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Pete Jenal said it was unusual and concerning to have so many burglary reports come through in a short space of time.
Nicolas Ristorante in Victoria Street was targeted about 7.30pm on Sunday night when four men forced their way into the rear of the business and stole a safe.
The restaurant owners have posted CCTV footage on social media calling out for information from the public.
Henk’s Cafe on Mardo Avenue in Australind was also robbed in a similar style on Sunday evening, with the rear door forced open and a safe stolen.
Coastal Water Dive on Albert Road was broken into on Sunday night with a large quantity of equipment stolen, including spear guns.
Owner Torry Goodall said the stolen items included a one-of-a-kind gun which would be easy to identify.
Mr Goodall described the gun as a 1400 with a custom roller head with modifications, worth $1600.
He said the thieves also stole cameras spear guns, torches, fishing rods, sounders, masks and laptops.
Senior Sergeant Jenal said Bunbury Designer Cabinets and Furniture on Albert Road and a metal workshop in Davenport were also robbed.
He urged the community to report any unusual activity or information that may help the investigation to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
