SPENDING thousands of dollars, inviting people you have not spoken to in years and organising multiple venues can be overwhelming for any bride and groom.
Smaller weddings are trending and couples are choosing more intimate settings with smaller amounts of guest and even smaller budgets.
Now, a group of local business women have noticed the trend and put their heads together to come up with the perfect solution – pop up weddings.
Marry Me in the Valley Pop Up Weddings allow a guest list of 16 people, a celebrant, cake, bouquet and professional photographer all for $1500.
In the picturesque Ferguson Valley, couples wanting a no-fuss wedding can marry in style.
One of the many brains behind the idea, The Photography Boutique photographer Jo Hitchcock said they came up with the idea after seeing a demand for low cost and low fuss weddings.
“It’s a combined idea between several of us who are all big names in the South West wedding scene,” she said.
“The day includes one hour venue hire, a 10-minute legal wedding ceremony which is professionally styled, a beautiful bouquet, cake and champagne to celebrate.
“It’s all in the Ferguson Valley which is a treasure trove of boutique wineries and breweries, secret hideaways and picturesque valleys.”
The first pop up wedding will be held at Melville Park Farm on September 12, with several spaces already filled.
“We have started thinking about a second venue and date, possibly in February next year,” she said.
The cut off for September’s date is August 12.
