A GENTLE giant who was always ready with a kind word will be sorely missed by his young family and the communities of Bunbury and South Hedland.
On August 6, father-of-two Mark Tweeddale was playing mixed netball when he collapsed and never returned home to his family.
Mr Tweeddale, his wife and two kids Hannah, eight, and Lucas, five, moved to the Pilbara from Bunbury in 2013 when he took a role at the East Pilbara Detectives Office.
He was a police officer in Bunbury from June 2007 and while stationed there he completed his detective training.
He worked at the Bunbury detectives’ office from October 2008 until January 2013 when he moved to South Hedland.
Mr Tweeddale loved fishing and surfing and had very fond memories of his time with his family in Bunbury.
He had recently turned 40 and had been married to his wife Kylie for 10 years when he passed away.
An online fundraising page has been set up by the community to help the Tweeddale family through this difficult time.
On the page, Mr Tweeddale was remembered as a “true gentleman who would help others without question - everyone looked up to him figuratively and literally.”
“As a community we are seeking donations to assist with the costs of ongoing living expenses so they can focus on family healing and honouring their father and husband’s memory,” the page reads.
