BUNBURY and Districts Cricket Association matches will go on this week, despite Forrest Park and Hay Park turf being contaminated with shards of glass earlier in the week.
The glass has been littered across the grounds in a top soil used by a company contracted by the City of Bunbury.
Six games are scheduled to be held over Hay Park and Forrest Park, all of which will go ahead.
BDCA president Paul Gardiner said the grounds that had been contaminated were not fields that had matches scheduled on them.
“The grounds we had games fixtured for on Hay Park are quite far away from the ones that were contaminated,” he said.
“We work closely with the council and thank them for their hard work – our games will go on as planned this week.”
Forrest Park was reopened to the public on Friday, but warning signs at Hay Park will remain in place with a review of their condition to take place next week.
