There were 150 people trapped in Yarloop overnight where the fire has destroyed the town.
At a press conference held this morning Department of Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Wayne Gregson said they were going to leave by car at 10am this morning.
It is now too dangerous for them to leave by road so they are being airlifted by helicopter in the next hour.
There are three helicopters that will leave from Jandakot airport at 11am with supplies and to pick people up from Yarloop and drop them at the Leschenault Leisure Centre in Australind.
There are three people who are still missing in the town.
