CAREY Park Gardens is now home to some of the biggest and the best roses in Bunbury thanks to the work of two dedicated residents.
Gisela Rodway and her daughter Rosina Mogg have become renowned around town for their breathtaking blooms.
Ms Rodway said she first began planting roses around the grounds when she moved to Carey Park Gardens seven years ago as a throwback to her rural roots.
“Both myself and my daughter were raised in the country, and have always had a love for horticulture, especially roses,” Ms Rodway said.
“Unfortunately I’m no longer able to care for the roses myself, but my daughter Rosina has taken over for me and visits the village regularly to look after them.
“Recently, Rosina entered two of our most beautiful varieties into the South West Rose Society show where they took out both first and second place.
“I believe the reason people love roses so much is because they invoke happiness. Whether it’s the residents here who get to wake up every morning to beautiful gardens, or the locals who enjoy visiting the village just to see them, they make everybody happy.”
Locals are invited to visit Carey Park Gardens weekdays between 9 am and 5 pm to view the award-winning blooms and tour the village or to join residents for a free lunch.
Carey Park Gardens is located at 130-134 Forrest Avenue, Bunbury, residents who move in before June 30, receive $500 free rent with any 12-month lease.
