Police have charged a man they say got a stolen car and trailer stuck in a fence, rammed a police car trying to get them out, then finally drove it into a water catchment area in Midvale.
WA Police spokeswoman Susan Usher said about 12.10am on Friday, police tried to stop a stolen Holden Commodore towing a trailer on Great Eastern Highway in Greenmount.

"It will be alleged the driver failed to stop and attempted to evade police, travelling through various metropolitan suburbs," she said.
"At the ramp to Roe Highway, the vehicle hit the metal fence as it was turning left and became wedged in the fence.
"The driver reversed the vehicle and trailer, hitting the front end of a police vehicle.
"The stolen vehicle continued driving until a short time later when the driver lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Roe Highway and Great Eastern Highway in Midvale."

The car then went down a slope into a water catchment area and the driver allegedly fled on foot.
Police Dog Brock found him and stopped him getting any further, then officers arrested him.
The 28-year-old Swan View man was charged with failing to stop, stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, driving recklessly, failing to stop causing property damage and driving without authority.
He is due to appear at Midland Magistrates Court on May 10.
