Bunbury footballer Aidan Clarke has continued his rise to the top with selection in the WA state 18s AFL initial squad of 42 players.
This year Clarke debuted for the Swan Districts league team after moving to Perth in January aged 17 to concentrate of football as a career. Prior to that he played his junior football with the Bunbury Bulldogs.
In 2013, Clarke was selected in the WA state schoolboys squad in Darwin in 2013 before he was selected in the WA state 16s AFL travelling team in 2014 which toured the Gold Coast.
Clarke was presented with his state jumper on Tuesday night by fellow former Bunbury Bulldog turned Fremantle Docker Connor Blakely.
The South West Academy of Sport scholarship recipient credits much of his success to development coach Jamie Douse who has provided ongoing support.
WA’s first game is Sunday, June 5 in Perth against Victoria Country.
They then take on South Austraila at AAMI stadium in Adelaide on June 12, the Allies on June 18 in Perth and Victoria Metro on June 18 at Simmonds Stadium in Geelong.
