Bunbury's biggest morning tea a smash hit

Upwards of 2000 people came through on Thursday to enjoy cakes, tea, a sausage sizzle and most importantly to raise awareness and money for cancer.

Celebrating it’s 23^rd year, this year the fundraiser added to the amount raised by the event, bringing the total to over $250,000 raised for cancer research.

Event organiser Margaret Barrett said the support they get from the community every year is amazing.

“It’s always a wonderful gala event with fantastic entertainment, and it’s really become a community event” she said.

“The first one raised $990 and now we’re at a quarter of a million dollars, which is fantastic.”
