Playing at the top level of Rugby union requires both skill and attitude and when it comes to that Bunbury City Bulls player Walker Smith has it all.
Smith made it into this years Western Australia under 17s state team which played in the national finals hosted in Brisbane in March. His WA team went on to make the semi-finals in a close contest with the eventual champions and through the tournament Walker picked up a man-of-the-match award and scored a hat-trick in one of the games
“I’ve been a Bunbury Bull since 2008 playing with some great guys and having superb coaches looking after my rugby career,” he said.
Walker was joined by a number of other Bulls under 17s players who made the squad last year and he acknowledged that their support and friendship helped him climb the ladder to the top.
The young star hopes to one day have the chance to play for the Western Force.
In other news, last weekend the under 17s Bulls Academy travelled to Perth to take on Bayswater for their fourth game of the season.
Two tries to Smith along with one each to Doc Brink and Reagan Edwards and three conversions by Jean Godfrey led the Bulls to victory 26-0.
