UPDATE: Perth Airport have confirmed Thursday morning’s evacuation was a false alarm.
The Bunbury man said passengers were told by airport staff they are working to re-establish a sterile area and they will be allowed back into the terminal.
The Mail understand there will be no delay to flights.
EARLIER: Hundreds of passengers have been evacuated from Perth Airport after an alarm began to sound on Thursday morning.
One passenger, who contacted the Mail, said he and his wife were about to board a flight to Port Hedland when they were asked to evacuate the airport.
The Bunbury man said multiple sirens began to ring and he noticed Australian Federal Police officers entering the airport.
He said over the public announcement system, passengers were instructed to leave the airport immediately.
While standing in the emergency evacuation zone, the man noticed WA Police officers arriving at the terminal.
Perth Airport took to social media to confirm terminals three and four are being evacuated as a precaution while an alarm is investigated.
