Have you ever wondered where top international referees come from and how they made their way to the best seat in the house?
Well Bunbury City Bulls rugby union club member Anro Habig has the answer.
The Bunbury junior has been presented with a scholarship from the Australian Rugby Union to become a senior referee with an ambition to go all the way to the top.
As part of his scholarship, Habig will receive top class training to ensure he is fully across all the intricacies that come with officiating professional matches.
To the delight of the local club, Habig recently took to the field at a Western Force Super Rugby clash with the New South Wales Waratahs to assist the match officials in front of a big home-town crowd.
Members at the club have also praised his willingness to help the Bunbury club’s junior players along with his teammates. He also coaches the under sevens on a weekly basis.
In local action, the Bunbury City Bulls under 17s defeated Perth Bayswater 34-30 on Sunday.
