The City of Bunbury under 17s Bulls travelled to Perth on Saturday to tackle top-of-the-ladder Kalamunda.
The side’s coach Shane Jerrett-Brown said the challenge of playing Kalamunda on their home pitch was always going to be huge and a win would require them to play immaculate rugby.
The Bulls were strong throughout the match to hold the competition leaders scoreless – running out 14-0 victors to secure top spot on the ladder for themselves.
“Today was poetry in motion – all this week at the academy we have been discussing our strategy and the boys implemented it perfect,” Jerrett-Brown said.
“There was an excellence in all the team members who played today with the work rate at 100 per cent.
“The forwards provided a strong performance for the backs to score some superb tries.”
Meanwhile the under 15s were not put off by the mud in their match against the Coastal Hurricanes. Coach Phil Darlow said the Bunbury boys came up against a very strong side and picked up the pace as the game progressed to become more competitive.
