Bunbury unveiled its new elite multi-million dollar sports facility at Hay Park on Tuesday.
The $4.74 million multi-sports pavilion was officially opened by Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan, Sports and Recreation Minister Mia Davies and Bunbury MLA John Castrilli.
The new facility features a function centre, changerooms, grandstand seating and other associated amenities.
City of Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan championed the facility as a magnificent arena for soccer and rugby league.
Minister for Sport and Recreation Mia Davies said it was very satisfying to see another election promise delivered.
"The state government has made an incredible effort to support state and sporting associations, clubs and local governments to deliver facilities just like this," Ms Davies said.
"This wouldn't have been possible without funding from the local government - from Royalties for Regions and from the Department of Sport and Recreation.
"You should be very, very proud of the facility and the legacy that you've left for future generations."
The new pavilion is part of Hay Park, Bunbury’s largest sporting precinct which includes the South West Sports Centre, tennis courts, an athletics track, outdoor netball courts, hockey turf and cricket pitches.
The pavilion was made possible with $2.8 million in funding from the Liberal National Government’s Royalties, $335,000 from the Department of Sport and Recreation and $1.58 million from the City of Bunbury.
