Eaton-Australind volunteer firies encourage men to talk about mental health

A post on the crew’s Facebook page said the single biggest killer of men aged under 45 years of age is suicide.

“Forty one per cent of men who comtemplated suicide felt they could not talk about their feelings,” the crew posted.

“Let’s show men across the world that #ItsOkayToTalk.” 

Since UK rugby player Luke Ambler posted a selfie a fortnight ago to encourage men to talk to each other, the campaign has gained traction across the globe with thousands of Australian men getting involved. 

Other celebrities to join the campaign have included comedian Ricky Gervais, singer Jake Quickenden and retired rugby player Beau Ryan.
