The Perth Royal Show is fast approaching and the South West Group are banding together with local businesses and organisations to boost tourism in the region.
The group representing the South West, will join nine other regions across the state to create original displays showing off the region’s agriculture and innovation at the show.
South West Group spokeswoman Denise Mercer said this year’s display had an emphasis on technology, tourism and interaction.
“Agriculture in the South West will always remain our focus as we seek to educate our city visitors about farming in the South West and where our food comes from,” Ms Mercer said.
“It’s an opportunity for people of all ages to learn more about our region’s contributions and to get the city people to come down here to visit.”
Ms Mercer said the South West Group would like to thank local businesses and organisations; Lomax Media, Totally Sound, South West Development Commission, Australia’s South West, GetYourApp and ISA Technologies for their contributions.
New to the party is Bunbury Retravision who have donated three Samsung tablets worth $1000, for use on the display.
“The three tablets donated by Bunbury Retravision will be used by children answering a quiz about agriculture on the display,” Ms Mercer said.
“The tablets will then be given away to the public through a draw at the end of the Royal Show.”
The group’s display will feature at the Department of Agriculture and Food Centenary Pavillion from September 24 to October 1.
The District Displays were set up originally to increase knowledge and interest in primary industries, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year.
