The City of Bunbury under 17s Bulls are set to play in the grand final of Perth’s junior rugby league in two weeks time.
With strong winds blowing across the pitch on Sunday, the Bulls proved too strong for Kalamunda, running out 21 – 7 winners.
Coach Shane Jerrett-Brown said finals are always tough and the boys will be keen to prove themselves.
“These boys had to dig deep to resist a very strong opposition pack and they played the conditions well, showing heaps of tenacity to eventually win,” he said.
“This team of young men have performed well on every stage in Perth, only losing one match, and coming through to the grand final.”
Club director of rugby Danny Monks said the result was fantastic for the club against a very talented opponent.
“Our club is full of praise and excited chatter for the academy boys and coaches,” he said.
The club added their thanks to RugbyWA for allowing the Bunbury Bulls to play as a club in the Perth 2016 season.
