Edith Cowan University’s South West Campus held its Open Day last Sunday giving anyone a chance to come and explore what the university is all about.
Visitors were able to attend talks and demos, get course and career advice from ECU lecturers, explore the award-winning facilities, and enjoy interactive displays from a diverse range of the university’s schools.
But it was not all work and no play. Big squishy transparent tubes floating in water were a hit with kids of all ages and a mechanical rodeo bull threw riders this way and that.
The Mili Markets featured boutiques of hand-crafted wares and the crowd was entertained by live music.
In the Scitech virtual reality booth, visitors donned headsets and disappeared into inner worlds while the visual effects of The Matrix were to be found nearby.
Thirty-six cameras captured people mid-jump, freezing them in bullet-time like the movie.
This year’s Open Day marked the 25th anniversary of ECU in the South West.
