The 10th Light Horse Bunbury Troop is hosting the 99th anniversary of the Charge at Beersheba commemoratory event.
The commemoration will incorporate a reenactment of the 10th Light Horse Military Games at the Royal Agricultural Society Showgrounds that took place in 1914.
The military games will be in the form of the Australian Light Horse Association’s association cup comprising eight ridden events that all have their origins as Military tactical training for the way the Australian Light Horse conducted Mounted Infantry Operations in World War I.
There will be dispatch races, jumps and obstacle courses, a collection of skill-at-arms events showcasing formation tent pegging using both the sword and lance.
The events and demonstrations will run all day on Saturday from 9:00am and will cease at 3:00pm, followed by the Beersheba Ceremony.
Sunday 9:00am to 1:00pm riding events and demonstrations will continue.
This event will run from October 29-30 at the Bruce Campbell Arena in the Royal Agricultural Society show grounds in Claremont with free entry all weekend.
