Eaton remain on top of the Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association after a 54 run win over Dalyellup Beach on Saturday.
The round seven win was Eaton’s sixth of the season, with round one washed out.
The Beavers won the toss and elected to bat James Hillery (15) and Don Seaman putting on 49 for the first wicket. A disastrous little collapse saw the new three batsman Matt Foreman, Justin Prentice and Clint Hewson all sent packing with ducks.
Seaman (86) and Matt Davies (33) got Eaton back on track while Clayton Caltsounis (26), Jamie Martin (17) and Steve Barron (16 not out) chimed in later in the innings to see Eaton finish 50 overs on 9/212. Liam Renton bowled best for Dalyellup Beach claiming 3/36.
In reply, Ben Lagana (4) went early but Tim Cooper (52), Corey Fagan (15) and Paul Jones (23) dug in.
A number of the Settlers batsmen got starts including Murray Tennent-Brown (8), Scott Harber (11), Daniel Lomax (10), Renton (11) and Riley Hodgson (14) but no one went on with the job, eventually dismissed for 158.
Colts also continued on their winning way, claiming a 48 run win over Leschenault.
Batting first, Colts took control of the game early with Tim Hutchinson (44) and Jayden Goodwin (33) batting well early.
The ever consistent Murray Goodwin (88 not out), Jordan Stynes (18) and Stephen Green (24 not out) saw Colts finish 50 overs with 3/224.
A number of the Green Caps made handy starts with the bat, but a steady fall of wickets made the chase a challenge. Tom Buchanan (24), Matt Buchanan (40) and Kurt D’Agostino (17) did what they could and number 11 Brad Gaylard (23 not out) tried his best late.
Leschenault finished 9/176 with Ethan Kelly taking 3/32 for Colts.
Marist also defeat Hay Park thanks to a man-of-the match performance from Chris Laker.
Batting first, Marist posted 8/193 with Lee Sorfleet (38), Laker (55) and Matt Anderson (62) scoring the bulk of the runs. Jono Whitney was the pick of Hay Park’s bowlers with 3/37.
Hay Park were eventually dismissed for 162 with Dave Taylor (49), Mark Steven (22) and Chris Waddingham (53) batting best.
But four wickets from Laker alongside his half-century saw Marist take the points.
This weekend Hay Park host Eaton, Marist host Leschenault and Dalyellup Beach host Colts.
