Two of Margaret River’s most musically talented artists are joining forces with Bunbury musical entrepreneur Kelsie Miller under a new management partnership.
Blues-jazz-funk artist Blue Child Collective and rock-roots musician Tom Day are the first to join Ms Miller's Good Nights roster.
Ms Miller said the foray into musician management was a part of her plan to see more South West musicians appearing on more lineups.
“The music scene down here in the South West is growing rapidly, with amazing festivals and live music gigs popping up more and more. I’d love to see the musicians that are already based down here getting a bit more recognition,” She said.
Blue Child Collective’s Dan White said working independently did hinder his writing and with Ms Miller’s help he would be able to focus more time where it counts.
“Like many independent musicians, a huge chunk of my time is spent booking shows, contacting support artists and marketing, when I could be investing my time in writing, refining my live performances and focusing on innovation through collaboration,” Mr White said.
Ms Miller is also managing bookings for a small collection of Bunbury musicians, as well as Donnybrook’s folk favourite Latehorse, who has been a fixture on the Good Nights line-up since the beginning.
