The 2016/17 Bunbury and Districts Cricket Association Twenty20 semi-finalists are now known after rounds four to nine were played across the weekend.
Hay Park, Colts, Eaton and Dalyellup Beach will all return to the field to battle it out over 20 overs in February after finishing as the top four sides in the competition.
On Saturday, Hay Park easily accounted for Leschenault. The Green Caps were dismissed for just 79. The Redbacks chased the target down for the fall of three wickets with more than six overs to spare.
Eaton defeated Collie with a strong batting performance. The Beavers took to the crease first and posted 3/161 with James Hillery (44) top scoring. In reply, Collie were bowled out for 102 with Leigh O'Mara the pick of the bowlers claiming 3/10.
Leschenault upstaged Colts with a brilliant knock from Rodney Shemeld. Colts batted first and made 7/112. The Green Caps were sharp in the field, nailing three run outs. Shemeld then blasted 94 not out to get his side home.
Dalyellup Beach’s 5/156 proved too good for Eaton’s 87 all out with Daniel Lomax and Corey Fagan both taking three wickets for Settlers.
A strong performance saw Marist defeat Harvey-Benger. A batting collapse saw the Bulls scramble to 8/96 which Marist were able to catch without losing a wicket, thanks to Lee Sorfleet (37 not out) and Cory Fitt (43 not out). Marist’s 9/127 was not enough to defeat Hay Park’s 3/128 with Dave Taylor (52) top scoring.
Blair Malatesta’s knock of 72 set Collie up well at 3/132 against Dalyellup Beach but the Settlers reached the target with a ball to spare.
Colts posting 6/150 then proved too good for Harvey-Benger’s 8/93.
The Redbacks kept winning on Sunday too. First up they posted 6/157 which was too strong for Harvey-Benger who finished 5/107.
Leschenault got the better of Marist with Tom Buchanan blasting 67 runs with his side finishing on 6/139. In reply, Marist were dismissed for 95.
A knock of 70 not out from Murray Goodwin was enough to help Colts defeat Dalyellup Beach. Colts posted 4/147 and then restricted the Settlers to 8/136.
Eaton chose to bat first against Marist and made 7/107 thanks to some runs late in the order. Marist chased well to win by six wickets with 13 balls left over.
Dalyellup Beach beat Marist in the final round by 33 runs. Batting first, Settlers made 6/139 and restricted the Green Caps to 9/106.
Collie took the points against Harvey-Benger. The Coalminers amassed 6/158 which was too good for the Bulls who were bowled out for 108. Eaton also finished with a win, catching Colts’ 8/112 with the loss of five wickets.
