Bunbury born ballroom dancer Andrew Buswell and his partner Kelsey Pincer were recently crowned as national champions for a third consecutive year.
The Perth based pair travelled to Melbourne earlier this month to dance at Hisense Arena and returned to WA as victors of the Australian Open Amateur New Vogue competition.
The pair comfortably won their way through two rounds and the semi-final and were ranked first overall by the panel of 13 judges in each of the five grand final dances – Twilight Waltz, Barclay Blues, La Bomba, Carousel and Swing Waltz.
The win caps another stellar year for the couple which included winning their fifth straight WA state open New Vogue title in October and their third Dancesport Australia National Capital Championship New Vogue title in Canberra in July.
The Australian Dancesport Championships in Melbourne were also successful for a number of their WA peers including Arkady Bakenov and Rosa Filippello (now based in England) who won the Professional Latin.
