Myalup jockey Lucy Warwick was taken to hospital on Monday after suffering a nasty fall at Bunbury Turf Club on Monday.
Warwick, 19, was leading a 1000 metre trial field aboard Pokemon Pete when the horse stumbled at the 150 metre mark.
The young rider tried her best to maintain her position on the horse but was eventually thrown to the turf.
She was knocked unconscious by the fall and was taken to hospital for observations.
The Mail understands she sustained a neck injury in the fall.
In WA when riders take a fall they are immediately stood down from riding for seven days in the interest of jockey safety and wellbeing.
