Volunteer firefighters will go head to head at the 2017 state open volunteer fire fighter games in Bunbury from March 4 to 5.
Volunteer firefighters from brigades across the state will put their skills to the test in a demonstration of their unique sport.
Speed, strength and teamwork will be vital as the volunteers compete in events using a range of traditional and modern day firefighting equipment and based on simulated firefighting activities.
Volunteer firefighters from across WA will compete for the honour of being named champion brigade and champion firefighter.
Bunbury Volunteer Fire and Rescue captain John Kowal said the championships were one of the ultimate events for volunteer fire services brigades for the year.
“This significant event is a longstanding tradition that is highly regarded among our crews and in addition to the competition aspect, it is a chance for volunteers from across the state to catch up with old mates and make new ones,” he said.
The competition at Hay Park will start at 10am on Saturday, March 4 and 9am on Sunday, March 5.
