Everyone’s thought of an idea they believe could change the world, now Bunbury has the chance to get those ideas off the ground with Australia Post Regional Pitchfest.
Pitchfest sees applicants throwing their ideas out for judges in a Shark Tank like scenery with the goal of building and supporting an entrepreneurial culture in regional Australia.
Regional Pitchfest founder, Dianna Somerville said Bunbury’s bustling creative scene was the perfect platform for Pitchfest to work with.
“With great things going on in town like the co-working space Maker and Co the atmosphere is right here for great ideas to come forward,” Ms Somerville said.
“We want everyone that has an idea to apply, whether it’s tech, environmental or food based there’s some great ideas to be dug up.”
Previous winners include a 13-year-old who is making waves with three-dimensional printing and a duo who developed a golfing strategy app.
Australia Post Chief Customer Officer, Christine Corbett, said the organisation was proud to bring this exciting and unique event to rural and regional communities.
“We’re committed to supporting rural and regional Australia. We believe Regional Pitchfest will not only promote and celebrate the wave of entrepreneurial culture emerging from regional Australia, but also help local communities and businesses grow,” she said.
Accepted progress onto the next and which takes place live on stage at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre and is open to the public to view on July 21.
