UPDATE: About $15,000 damage was caused by a house fire in Withers on Thursday afternoon.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said two Bunbury crews were called to the home at 4.42pm after a report of smoke in the home.
The spokesperson said the fire started in the ceiling fan in the bathroom and the home’s smoke alarm failed.
EARLIER: Bunbury Career Firefighters worked quickly on Thursday afternoon to extinguish a fire at a home in Jacaranda Crescent.
The Mail understands the owner of the home was present when the fire started around 4.40pm.
Police have also attended the home.
It is not yet known what started the fire or how much damage it has caused.
