Eaton Recreation Centre has become the first facility in the South West to offer its members 24/7 virtual fitness classes.
Following on from the centre’s transition to 24-hour gymnasium access last year, Eaton Recreation Centre has launched a virtual system called Fitness on Demand.
Large screen and commercial speakers allow members to choose from a variety of class types including strength, cardio, dance, cycling and flexibility at a time that suits them.
Centre operations manager Ben Jordan said virtual classes give anyone new to group fitness the chance to gain confidence and learn the moves before they join a live class.
“Virtual classes will never be able to fully replicate the atmosphere, motivation and fun found in a class with a live instructor but they are a great way to add variety to your training program and being available 24/7, it fits into our busy lives,” he said.
