A man has faced court charged with drink-driving and dangerous driving causing death, after a 10-year-old girl was killed in a motorcycle crash in Waterloo on October 23, 2016.
Paul Ramon Gelmi, 46, faced Bunbury Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with dangerous driving causing death, excess 0.08, no authority to drive (incorrect class) and used an unlicensed vehicle on a road.
Police will allege the girl was a pillion passenger on the Yamaha off-road motorcycle when it crashed on a bend on Clifton Road, Waterloo.
The girl died after being thrown from the motorcycle, while Mr Gelmi was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.
Mr Gelmi's legal counsel asked for an adjournment to give them further time to organise their case.
The matter was adjourned to May 11 for a committal mention date with bail on the charges set at $5000.
