Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School has been recognised as Western Australia’s first Swimming WA endorsed school.
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School swimming coach Bob Marshall said it was a honour to be the first school in the state to be endorsed.
“Grammar has provided students with high quality swimming training for more than 20 years,” he said.
“The accreditation from Swimming WA recognises the school’s commitment to the swimming program.”
The school attained gold status by meeting a number of selection criteria developed by Swimming WA. Some of the criteria include offering at least five sessions per week and having 50 per cent of the school team as Swimming WA members.
“All of our coaches are fully accredited and this endorsement will ensure we have access to resources from Swimming WA to enable our coaches to remain up-to-date on the best swimming practices and provide a competitive program for our swimmers,” Mr Marshall said.
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School’s swimming team have competed in the Rottnest Channel Swim for the past 19 years plus a number of other competitions across the region including the Busselton Jetty Swim and interschool events.
