As Choose Respect continues to spread throughout our community, residents can now pick up Choose Respect resources within the CBD from Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino’s office on the corner of Victoria and Symmons Street.
There are numerous free resources that the Bunbury Respect committee have developed as helpful tools to use Choose Respect in homes, sporting groups, schools or businesses.
Mrs Marino and her staff have joined the growing group who are spreading the Choose Respect message in the community.
Choose Respect is a simple message that encourages everyone to make a conscious choice to treat themselves and others with respect.
The signage around town is a reminder for us all to think before we act.
So for everyone who accepts that challenge, by showing respect and teaching our next generation to be considerate and caring people, the change of culture to a safer future develops.
Bunbury Respect chairman Peter Rigden said respect is not instinctive, it must be taught.
“It has never been more important to develop resilience in our young people to turn around the drug and alcohol abuse that is prevalent in today’s society and the resulting anti-social behaviour,” he said.
