Kalumburu Police wish to speak to anyone who was in the Swift Bay area over the past few months who can assist them to find the people who made an SOS sign from rocks.
A WA Police spokeswoman said a pilot flying over the remote Kimberley area recently sighted the SOS.
Police had searched the area but found no one, and no signs of recent human activity besides the sign.
Anyone who can assist police to discover if anyone there needs help, or to identify those who made the sign, should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
