Local community sports groups will have the opportunity to speak directly with Minister for Sport and Recreation Mick Murray at an upcoming sports forum to be held in Bunbury.
Member for Bunbury Don Punch said the opportunity gives local sporting groups the chance to to be a part of a broader conversation about sport in Bunbury
“I would like to thank the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Mick Murray MLA, for agreeing to come to Bunbury to be part of this forum,” Mr Punch said.
“Sport is such an important part of our community life. I am really pleased to be able to host this forum as a way of recognising that importance and to identify ways to better support the sport sector into the future.
“I would like to strongly encourage all members and representatives of sporting clubs and groups in Bunbury to attend the sports forum, to come along and make sure the views of their code or club are heard.”
The McGowan Labor Government has so far committed to a number of initiatives to improve sporting facilities in Bunbury, including $4 million to improve the facilities at Hay Park.
“The conversations had at the sports forum will inform the implementation of that commitment,” Mr Punch said.
“The Minister and I are very much looking forward to hearing from the local sporting community.”
The sports forum will be held at the Bunbury Bowling Club on Thursday, June 22 at 5.30pm. Anyone wishing to attend should contact the office of Dun Punch MLA on 9791 3636 or by emailing bunbury@mp.wa.gov.au.
