Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino said 14 road upgrades have now commenced in the electorate as part of the federal government’s $1.86 billion investment into the roads to recovery program in this financial year.
Mrs Marino said 14 road upgrades was a great result for the South West and she was optimistic about more being announced in the future.
“There are many roads in the South West which need work and I’ll be fighting to ensure more roads are upgrade soon,” she said.
A commitment of $210,000 will replace kerbing, upgrade drainage and reseal the road surface with asphalt at Acacia Street, Bunbury between the Upper Esplanade and Scott Street intersections while $119,000 will pay for similar repairs on Pickersgill Street, Bunbury.
Sherry Street, Medici Lane, Simpson Avenue, Swansen Avenue and Upper Esplanade in Bunbury will also be improved as part of the initiative.
