The Chaser's Chris Taylor is going solo with a new television show.
The Aussie comedian will host an upcoming ABC program similar to The Gruen Transfer that will dissect the best in film, television and internet content.
Screen Time will also feature a rotating pool of celebrity guests such as Mark Fennell, Nakkiah Lui and Benjamin Law. The panel will offer recommendations for those looking to discover the next Game of Thrones or Handmaid's Tale, as well as unpack the big issues in Australia's film and television industry.
The public broadcaster is keen to air the show given the demise of beloved program At the Movies almost two years ago, according to an ABC source. However, while Screen Time won't ignore the latest blockbuster releases, it won't feature traditional film reviews.
Filming for a pilot episode is due to kick off on September 29.
The comedian is no stranger to the ABC, having not only starred in The Chaser's War on Everything but beginning his career as a cadet journalist in Aunty's newsroom in .
An ABC spokeswoman said the 10-part series is due to air on October 17. She said the panellists will discuss everything from the 'golden age' of television to bedroom YouTube stars.
"Each of them brings a wealth of cultural knowledge and experience, but more than anything - and perhaps more importantly - they are enthusiastic and avid consumers of screen content themselves," she said.
"They aren't cultural arbiters of what's good and bad, but they will each bring strong and varied opinion."
