The Bunbury Junior Barbarians have reached out and expressed support for the Choose Respect program.
The teams has partnered with Bunbury Respect to embrace the Choose Respect program over the past four years.
Bunbury Respect inc. Committee member Leanne Maher was on hand at the Club’s End of Season Celebrations to present the 2017 Choose Respect Awards to the Junior Barbarian Players and Club Volunteers.
Club President Kim Doyle said the group was chosen for modeling the Choose Respect values, offering support to each other and being respectful.
“Respect is shown through actions, attitudes, words and behaviour,” she said.
“Team Managers and Coaches reported it was a very difficult task to only award one player per team, so congratulations to all Barbarians for embracing the Choose Respect Values.”
In 2017, the Club added the Choose Respect logo onto the sleeves of their jerseys.
“Choose Respect is a powerful tool to assist uphold, safeguard and reinforce core values that are important to the Club,” Mrs Doyle said.
“The more the Choose Respect logo is visible, the more we are all reminded to think about the way we go about playing our sport.”
Mrs Maher congratulated the Club for their ongoing support and encouragement of Choose Respect.
