A 32-year-old Carey Park man has been charged following a collision in the Sandridge Road/King Road intersection this morning.
Bunbury Police Senior Sergeant Mal Jones believes the man, riding a Blue Yamaha motorcycle, saw a police vehicle at the intersection between 10.30am and 11am this morning.
The police vehicle was due to pull the man over for a licence check, before the man allegedly sped through a red light and into the intersection.
The motorcycle then collided with another vehicle at the intersection.
Police believe the man then tried to run off but was then arrested. The man was allegedly found to be driving with a suspended driver’s licence.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to a minor hand injury shortly after the incident.
He was refused bail and was due to face court on Wednesday afternoon.
Police and Fire and Rescue Service personnel attended the scene to block traffic lanes and clear the area.
