The Bunbury Studio Potters’ latest event is set to showcase the group’s love and understanding of the clay-based art form.
This year’s Bunbury Studio Potters Exhibition and Sales will showcase its members’ greatest creations at the Stirling Street Arts Centre on Friday, October 20 from 6.30pm to 8pm, Saturday, October 21 from 10am to 3pm and Sunday, October 22 from 10am to 2pm.
A “Mad Potters Tea Party” will also be held during the event.
Bunbury Potters Studio Exhibition and Sales organiser Jessica Stegena said participants will present works created over the past year.
She said the group gave its members the chance to be creative and meet like-minded people.
“I needed to have something where I could make stuff, and I have learned that the making of pottery is a long-term event because it takes so many stages and it’s quite complicated, but I have enjoyed it,” she said.
Bunbury Potters Studio president Davida Palmer said the group was open to all ages and skill levels.
In its 38th year, the exhibition will also coincide with the centre’s open day and the launch of the 2018 Bunbury Summer School’s catalogue of workshops and activities on the 21st.
Make and Co. Creative Director Colette McEntee will be on hand for the launch.
The weekend will include have-a-go activities for visitors. Tutors will also be available for discussions about next year’s courses.
The school comprises of 80 classes for all ages held over two weeks in January. The courses are held at the centre and other Bunbury venues.
The catalogue will be available on the centre website www.stirlingstreetarts.com.au from the 21st.
