More than two years since a Perth prospecting couple vanished in a remote part of the state's Goldfields, Police Minister Michelle Roberts has announced a $250,000 reward for information that could help solve the outback mystery.
Raymond and Jennie Kehlet were last seen on March 21, 2015 by a friend at a prospecting site about 30 kilometres from Sandstone.
The couple's dog was found a week later wandering around the area in an emaciated condition, sparking an extensive land and air search.
The body of Mr Kehlet, 47, was subsequently discovered on April 8 at the bottom of an abandoned mine shaft about two kilometres from the couple's camp site, but the fate of Ms Kehlet, 49, remains unknown.
Mr Kehlet's brother David Kehlet has previously said he believed the pair met with foul play.
"It has been the family and friend's belief from early on that foul play was involved, although the motivations for such a thing to occur to them are inexplicable," he said.
"Ray and Jennie were a hardworking, family-orientated, loving couple with hearts of gold, who travelled to Sandstone primarily to 'get away from it all' and secondly with the simple hopes of striking it rich."
Six months after the couple disappeared, detectives returned to the couple's Sandstone campsite and discovered some "items of interest" although they would not at the time confirm what the potential clues were.
A month later in November 2015, police searched a house in Medina as part of their investigation into the couple's fate.
Police seized a number of items from the Medina property and a 63-year-old man assisted police with their inquiries, but no charges were laid.
Ms Kehlet's disappearance was reclassified by police as suspicious in March 2016, one year after she went missing.
Ms Roberts said she hoped Thursday's announcement of the $250,000 reward would motivate someone to come forward.
"The heavy toll that an unsolved case like this takes on family and friends should never be forgotten," she said.
"I know detectives are pulling out all stops to solve this case and give Mr and Mrs Kehlet's family answers, and I urge anyone who can help to come forward."
WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson told reporters police would continue to search for answers to the outback mystery.
"We will never give up in terms of any suspicious death or any major investigation," he said.
"This matter is being treated seriously, there's been extensive work done in the past and we've got a large body of work going on in the present, so we're going to continue on and move forward and we are hoping that someone who knows something about this will come and tell us about it."
