Shaylah Brooks-Bowman is facing a new challenge next month, with the chance to represent her country on the world stage up for grabs.
The 20-year-old has been selected as a national finalist for the Australian Miss Continents finals, held on November 2 to 4 2017.
The contestants are currently raising funds for three charities – The Australian Heart Foundation, The Cancer Centre for Children and Teal Wings of Hope – leading up to the finals.
The three-day event includes rehearsals, a Blue Banquet ball, swimwear and fashion-wear photoshoots, interviews with the judges and the grand final event.
The winner will then go the international Miss Continents finals in the USA next July.
Ms Brooks-Bowman has previously competed in the Miss Galaxy and Miss Global competitions.
She said her pageant experience helped her to be prepared and handle the pressure.
