A Bunbury teenager caught selling cannabis while on bail for the same offence was fined in the local magistrates court on Monday.
Stephen James Hill, 19, appeared via video from Bunbury Regional Prison and pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply, possession of unlawfully obtained cash, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The court was told Hill was stopped by police in Withers last week.
A search uncovered 38 grams of cannabis and $570 in cash.
During a subsequent search of his home officers found another 201 grams of cannabis as well as a set of electronic scales.
Counsel for Hill said his client, who is due to face the District Court in January on a similar drug possession charge, had been cooperative with police.
Magistrate Evan Shackleton said Hill had already had a number of warnings.
“This was clearly a commercial arrangement,” he said.
“You’re more of a dealer than a user/dealer.”
Hill was fined $4500.
He remains in custody ahead of his scheduled court date next year.
