Athletes throughout the region are heading to Bunbury for the Nina's Women's Triathlon.
The Bunbury Tri Club’s annual event will feature athletes competing in swimming, cycling and running at the South West Sports Centre on Sunday, November 12 from 7.30am to 10.30am.
This year, athletes will take on either the Gold standard (200 metre swim, 10 kilometre cycle and 2km run) or Diamond Level (300m swim, 15km cycle, 3km run) competitions.
Nina’s Women’s Triathlon committee member Lorrie Morrison said the event has become a staple in Bunbury over the past 12 years.
“It’s a non-competitive event and the goal is solely to encourage women get back into an active lifestyle,” she said.
Ms Morrison said the event provided an easy, cost-effective outlet for women of all ages and fitness levels.
She said the event helped competitors to find out more about the Bunbury Tri Club, the Bunbury Runners’ Club and the Bunbury Cycle Club.
She added many participants joined fitness clubs or entered other competitions afterwards.
