Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School has been busy with students coming in and out as part of its Year 8 Round Square exchange program.
The School has welcomed three students from Ballarat Grammar School in Victoria for the past two weeks.
The BCGS host students the accompanied them back to Ballarat on Sunday to spend two weeks on exchange.
Ballarat Grammar year eight student Caroline Tatham said the warm weather in WA was a nice change.
“Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is bigger in size but has less students than Ballarat Grammar. Everyone is so nice and I have felt welcomed into the school,” Caroline said.
“It’s been great getting to know Cassandra, my host student, so when we go back to Ballarat I won’t be introducing her as a stranger but my friend.”
Caroline’s host student Cassandra Leu said she was really excited for her exchange in Ballarat after hearing all about it from Caroline.
“I am looking forward to seeing the multi-story buildings at Ballarat Grammar and going to Sovereign Hill,” Cassandra said.
“Caroline and I have bonded really well. At first, it was a bit awkward, but now we are good friends and our friendship will only get better.”
Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School is the only global member of the Round Square organisation in the South West.
Round Square is founded on the philosophy that a student’s education is much more than what occurs in the classroom, but also encompasses life experiences and opportunities.
