Occupational Therapy Week was celebrated by members of the profession at the Lord Forrest Hotel last week.
The annual event, which was organised by the South West Occupational Therapist Professional Development Group, recognised those who have made a strong commitment and level of service to the profession.
Margaret River’s Janette Lawson was presented with the recognition of service award.
Working as a private practitioner, Mrs Lawson was acknowledged for her clinical skills, dedication and commitment to rural health, particularly in the area of acquired brain injury rehabilitation.
Kristy Alexandratos was awarded the mentoring award in recognition of her commitment to professional development and willingness to share her knowledge in aged care with others.
The rising star award was presented to Faith Ossevoort who, since graduating, has worked in a community paediatric setting and is currently working in Bunbury at MSWA.
She was an integral part of developing an occupational therapy presence for MSWA in the South West, servicing clients with a range of complex neurological conditions.
