Bunbury students shine brightly at the Tennis Foundation Cup

Five Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School students experienced success at the recent 2017 Women In Tennis Foundation Cup and D’Arcy Slater Cup tournament, hosted in Bunbury from October 29 to November 1.

The competition was open to junior players from around the state, with players coming from as far away as Geraldton to compete.

Year 7 student Hannah Nichols won the division one under 13 girls singles and then teamed up with Tessa Kongras to take out the under 13 girls doubles event, representing the South West.

Miss Nichols was selected to be part of the state tennis team after her performance at the cup.

Fellow Year 7 students Kobe Hayes and Darcy Eagles won the D’Arcy Cup division two boys competition, while Year 5 Hannah Keall took out the classic singles competition.

Students were competing as part of the team from the South West Zone, which includes students from across the region.
