A former high-flying player manager of several West Coast premiership stars has faced the District Court on trial over a seizure of almost 1kg of methamphetamine.
Angelos Papadopoulos, 58, along with Anthony La Bianca, 62, have pleaded not guilty to possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply after police stopped their vehicle on the Mitchell Freeway for a routine traffic check.
The pair watched a video in court of police finding an estimated $1 million worth of the drug in a car driven by Mr La Bianca.
The two were pulled over after their Toyota LandCruiser was seen driving erratically in Perth on July 9 last year.
Outlining evidence to be presented by the State, prosecutor Mark Nicol said the court would be told DNA likely to belong to Mr Papadopoulos was found on the outside of a shopping bag in the front passenger footwell that contained the drugs.
$5000 was also found in the centre console of the 4WD.
Mr Papadopoulos, a father and grandfather, used to advise the careers of West Coast legends Glen Jakovich and Dean Kemp, while Mr La Bianca had three previous convictions for meth possession.
